    Chateau Bauduc

Château Bauduc is a prestigious 200-acre estate near Bordeaux & St Emilion.

Their website says, “Welcome to our website. We make affordable Bordeaux wines on our own vineyard and sell direct to people at home in the UK and to leading restaurants. Delivery takes just a few days from our warehouse near London.

Since the first vintage in 2000 the Quinneys have made Bauduc into a very smart operation, selling direct to consumers through mail order and the internet, and gaining regular listings with such star chefs as Gordon Ramsay and Rick Stein. The wine deserves it. Red, pink and white, they are utterly drinkable, each possessing a classic, mouthwatering Bordeaux texture and easy going fruit.  chateau bauduc award winning bordeaux wine

We’re unusual for Bordeaux, which makes mostly red wine, because half our vines are white – mostly Sauvignon Blanc, plus nine acres of Sémillon. For the reds, we have over two thirds Merlot, plus a few hectares of Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.”

    Oz Clarke‘s ‘Bordeaux’, Anova Books.
We fell for this lovely Château, some 15 miles from the city of Bordeaux, and moved here from London in 1999. The house and the winery are surrounded by our 65-acre vineyard, where we grow Sauvignon Blanc and Sémillon for our white wines, along with Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc for our reds and rosé”.

    Victoria Moore The Telegraph
‘Another Englishman who has been successful at building a network of supporters is Gavin Quinney, who makes wine in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux. His beautifully crisp white is proudly on the menu at both Gordon Ramsay and Rick Stein – restaurant listings have become an important kudos and authority marker for the producer managing his own sales’.
